Mission Statement

Mercian Heritage Research is committed to advancing public and academic understanding of Britain’s historical development through rigorous, original, and accessible research. Our work explores three interconnected themes — Aviation History, the Industrial Revolution, and transatlantic trade in the 18th century — examining how technological innovation, global exchange, and human experience shaped the modern world.

Building on earlier research into figures such as John Lloyd, the growth of vocational training, and the Child family’s transatlantic connections, we investigate the forces that transformed societies, industries, and identities across Britain and beyond. We aim to collaborate widely, communicate clearly, and contribute meaningfully to the preservation, interpretation, and appreciation of our shared heritage.
